Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team.
As a Kennel Technician, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care and support to the animals in our facility.
This is a physically demanding role that requires strong animal handling skills and the ability to lift heavy objects.
Duties:
- Provide daily care and maintenance for animals in the kennel - Clean kennels, cages, and play areas to ensure a safe and sanitary environment - Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs - Administer medications as directed by veterinary staff - Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary team - Assist with grooming and bathing of animals as needed - Exercise and socialize animals to promote their physical and mental well-being - Assist with basic training exercises for dogs - Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and any observed changes in behavior or health
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility is preferred - Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain animals when necessary - Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) and perform physically demanding tasks - Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners and veterinary staff - Knowledge of basic dog training techniques is a plus - Familiarity with veterinary terminology and procedures is beneficial Note:
