Job Description:
We are seeking a Medical Office Assistant to join our team! You will perform clerical and administrative tasks to ensure medical office efficiency and comfort.
The ideal candidate will be a hard-working professional with a friendly, outgoing personality.
Responsibilities:
Verify insurance benefits Answer, screen and direct incoming calls and emails Organize patient files and schedule appointments Update and maintain medical records Maintain office supplies Process insurance and patient payments in the EHR Maintain Salesforce portal Submit prior authorizations Light medical billing Perform receptionist duties when needed Collect copays when appropriate Additional responsibilities as required
Qualifications:
High school graduate, required Some college, preferred Previous experience in medical office, home health or other related fields, required Knowledge of NextGen Office/Health fusion, preferred Knowledge of Salesforce, preferred Knowledge of Availity and insurance portals, required Previous experience verifying insurance benefits, required Previous experience submitting prior authorizations, preferred Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of personnel both internal and external, required Excellent verbal and written skills, required Must be able to work as a team and individually, required Previous experience using office equipment such as computers, laptops, scanners, fax/copier machines, phones, preferred Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and organize work.
Must be able to work independently with little supervision.
